AIUC-1

Buyers need a way to compare the trustworthiness of AI agents from different vendors. AIUC-1 aims to provide that, similar to how SOC 2 helps evaluate SaaS providers.

AIUC-1 addresses areas such as:

  • Security: Protection against prompt injection, data leakage, and misuse.
  • Safety: Preventing harmful outputs and actions.
  • Reliability: Consistent, accurate agent behavior.
  • Accountability: Logging, oversight, and governance.
  • Agent-specific controls: MCP security and agent identity requirements.

Vendors have begun achieving AIUC-1 certification, and the standard is being linked with AI insurance and with other frameworks such as OWASP AIVSS.

Enterprises can use AIUC-1 in procurement to ask agent vendors for evidence of tested controls.
