2. The PointGuard AI SaaS Platform and Browser Extension

This section applies specifically to the SaaS Platform and Browser Extension.

Unlike our Websites, the PointGuard AI SaaS Platform and Browser Extension are designed for enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP).

  • Local Storage vs. Cookies: The extension primarily uses secure local storage (e.g., chrome.storage) to store your organization’s security policies and regex patterns for PII detection.
  • No Cross-Site Tracking: The extension does not use cookies to track your browsing history across the web for advertising purposes.
  • Authentication: It may use a secure token (stored locally) to ensure you are authorized to access your organization's PointGuard Instance.
  • Compliance: In accordance with Google Limited Use requirements, any data stored or accessed by the extension is used solely to provide DLP and Guardrail services and is never used for marketing or sold to third parties.

On our Websites (e.g., PointGuardAI.com) and the SaaS dashboard, we use cookies for the following categories:

  • Authentication: To recognize you when you log in so we can show you the correct workspace and information.

  • Preferences: To remember your settings, such as language preferences or communication choices.
  • Performance & Analytics: To help us understand how our Sites perform and how to improve our products. We use third-party tools like Google Analytics for this purpose.
